Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 May 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website www.lm1pastpapers.co.uk and related services (together, the “Service”) operated by LM1 Past Papers (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

LM1 Past Papers provides online practice questions, sample tests, and related study tools intended to help users prepare for insurance examinations. The Service may include free and paid features. Content is provided for general study and revision purposes only.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a purchase. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a security or abuse risk.

4. Paid access and payments

Certain parts of the Service require a one-off payment. Prices are shown on the website before checkout and may change for future purchases. Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment provider. We do not store full payment card details on our servers.

Where applicable, paid access is granted to the account used at checkout. Access is personal to that account and is not transferable unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Because the Service provides immediate access to digital content, statutory refund rights may be limited once access has been supplied. If you believe a payment was made in error, contact us within 14 days at contact@lm1pastpapers.co.uk and we will review your request in line with applicable UK consumer law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
  • scrape, copy, resell, or redistribute content from the Service without permission;
  • interfere with the normal operation or security of the Service;
  • misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

6. Study and exam disclaimer

The Service is an independent study resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) or any examination body. Practice questions, explanations, and scores are provided for revision only and do not guarantee examination success. You should always rely on official syllabus materials and examination guidance from the relevant awarding body.

7. Generated content

Some questions and explanations may be generated automatically. While we aim for accuracy and syllabus alignment, content may occasionally contain errors or become outdated. You use generated content at your own discretion and should verify important points against official study materials.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, branding, software, and original content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial study purposes in accordance with these Terms.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable. Maintenance, third-party outages, or events outside our reasonable control may affect availability.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to the above, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or examination outcomes arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or £100 if no payment was made.

11. Privacy

Our use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your agreement with us.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required for legal, security, or operational reasons. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
